Excellent topic Charles-- and while I know everyone loves to complain about lawyers, and us, I'd offer another reason into the mix-- what we do, in almost every case, there are winners and losers. In real estate, it is the nature of our zero sum negotiation, if my side makes more, the alternate side takes home less. People don't like to lose, and howl when they do.
I am not ashamed to say that I want my clients to get the edge in every transaction. I like to win too!
