I just realized it has been awhile since I talked about foreclosures in our area. The main reason for this is because there really isn’t a whole lot to talk about.
The Birmingham Business Journal reported last week that Birmingham area foreclosures where the third lowest in the country for a large metro area. I would have to say the story isn’t much different here in Dothan. Foreclosure.net only lists 53 properties on its website, and RealtyTrac only lists a handful for some reason. The foreclosure.net numbers are similar to what they were a few months back.
There has been some talk in the media about a wave of foreclosures that will be hitting the market soon. We haven’t heard anything like that from the banks and mortgage companies that we deal with.
